To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will give the latest figures for the balance of trade between the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

In the first two months of 1988 trade between the United Kingdom and New Zealand showed a crude deficit of £21.9 million.

These figures should be treated with more than the usual caution because of major changes to the Customs
