§ Mr. John MarshallTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps his Department is taking to identify the persons or bodies responsible for discharging the undertakings given at the time of the sale of Heveningham hall: and what steps are being taken to enforce the discharge of those undertakings.
§ Mr. MoynihanHeveningham hall was conveyed to ID Investment Development AG in November 1981. Mr. Abdul-Amir Misr Al-Ghazzi personally covenanted with the Secretary of State in December 1981 that he would himself, so far as he was able, observe, or procure the observance of, the covenants of sale if the company should in any respect fail to fulfil them.
I refer my hon. Friend to the answer given by my hon. Friend, the Member for Broxbourne (Mrs. Roe) on 18 February in respect of the discharging of the covenants of sale. We continue to monitor the situation carefully.
