To ask the Secretary of State for Employment when the Health and Safety Inspectorate last visited the site of a former chemical factory in Uphall road, Ilford; what were the results of its monitoring; and if he will make a statement.

Inspectors of the Health and Safety Executive last visited this site on 1st March 1988 to meet the prospective developers of the site and discuss their plans for development. No monitoring of the site was carried out by the Health and Safety Executive during the visit.
