HC Deb 19 April 1988 vol 131 cc426-7W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what have been the conclusions of his Department's constant review of procedures concerning nuclear weapons convoys following an incident in which one of these convoys was left standing on a public road by a locked gate of RNAD Dean hill on 9 April; whether any military of civil organisation was requested to grit the roads used by this convoy; what steps his Department has taken to seek to improve the road from West Grinstead to RNAD Dean hill subsequent to the accident involving a weapons convoy in January 1987; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ian Stewart

As has been the practice of successive Governments, I am not prepared to discuss the movements of nuclear weapons or their associated procedures, nor to confirm or deny that they may have been in any particular location at a particular time.
