26. Mr. Batiste

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what further consideration he has given to the advice and information which he will provide to the parents and governors of schools who are considering opting for grant maintained status.

Mr. Dunn

Once the Education Reform Bill has been enacted, my right hon. Friend intends to publish guidance for all interested parties on the proposals for grant-maintained schools. This will include information for parents and governors contemplating grant-maintained status for their school.

33. Ms. Ruddock

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what consultations he has had with representatives of ethnic minority groups about the Education Reform Bill; and, in particular, the provisions to abolish the Inner London education authority.

Mr. Dunn

Copies of all the consultation documents on the proposed provisions of the Education Reform Bill were sent to a wide range of organisations known to have an interest in education, and further copies were freely available from the Department of Education and Science. Comments were received from a substantial number of organisations representing ethnic minority groups, in response to the various documents, and copies of these responses have been placed in the Library of the House.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science when he expects to publish in full the latest version of his proposed national curriculum; and if he will make a statement.

44. Mr. Win Griffiths

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he has received any representations concerning the admissions procedure to grant maintained schools which may be established after the enactment of the Education Reform Bill.

Mr. Dunn

A significant number of the representations which my right hon. Friend received in response to the consultation document on grant-maintained schools showed an interest in the admissions arrangements which such schools would adopt.
