HC Deb 18 April 1988 vol 131 c282W
Mr. Livingstone

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will establish a judicial inquiry into the role of the Stoke Newington police in the arrest and detention of Trevor Monerville.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

No. The allegations about Mr. Monerville's treatment by the police are already being investigated under the supervision of the Police Complaints Authority. I understand that the investigating officers continue to be denied access to the relevant medical records by Mr. Monerville's legal representatives, and that this is causing difficulties to the investigation.
