To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what local contingency arrangements have been made in the Port Talbot and Neath local offices of his Department in the event of the office's social fund budgets being exhausted before the end of the 1988–89 financial year.

The local offices serving the London borough of Barnet are Barnet, Edgware, Hendon, Highgate, Neasden and Wood Green. Information on their social fund allocations for 1988–89 was contained in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Wells (Mr. Heathcoat-Amory) on 4 November at columns774–81.
