HC Deb 18 April 1988 vol 131 cc322-3W
Mr. Robert Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has decided what kind of inquiry there will be as a result of objections to proposals to establish a roundabout at Selattic quarry on the A96 at Inverurie road; when such an inquiry is due to commence: what notice will be given to objectors; and if objectors who have or who have not yet lodged objections will be allowed to propose alternative schemes.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

I am not yet in a position to say whether or when a public inquiry into the proposed line of the Bucksburn diversion will be necessary. This will depend on whether the objections received to the published draft road order can be resolved by negotiation and also on public reaction to the draft compulsory purchase order to be published in the summer.

If an inquiry is held, objectors will receive no less than 28 days notice in writing of the date, time and place. Objectors would have the opportunity to propose alternative schemes at an inquiry.

Mr. Robert Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many objections have been lodged against proposals to establish a roundabout at Selattic quarry on the A96 at Inverurie road.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

Twenty.
