§ Mr. NewtonThe criteria for awarding performance-related pay to general managers were set out in a m:morandum (PM (86)11) issued by the Department to health authorities in 1986. The scheme is designed to reward both short-term achievements and a sustained long-term contribution to the management of the authority. The payments made to individual managers are confidential between them and their employing authority.
