§ Mr. MacGregorThe real monetary gap (RMG) is the difference between a currency's green and market rates of exchange calculated as a percentage of the former. In sectors where monetary compensatory amounts (MCAs) apply, they are derived from the RMG by the subtraction of a "franchise". The real monetary gaps applying in the Community in the week commencing 11 April 1988 were:
