§ Mr. NewtonIt is the responsibility of individual health authorities to ensure that the most effective and efficient use is made of the nursing and midwifery work force. The Department assists by distributing management services reports on, for example, the work of hospital-based midwives and (shortly) night nursing services. It must be the aim of each employing authority to maximise the amount of time devoted to patient care.
