§ Mrs. ChalkerWe have regular contacts with the Governments of the front-line states and also with a wide range of opinion throughout southern Africa. The problems of southern Africa were also discussed at the recent Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Vancouver.

§ Mrs. ChalkerWe shall continue, with our European Community partners, to do all we can to promote dialogue between the parties in South Africa leading to fundamental peaceful change. Our goal remains the total abolition of apartheid as soon as possible.
