Mr. Ingram

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the number of companies in the East Kilbride constituency which have received regional development grants in each year since 1984.

Mr. Lang

The number of companies receiving approvals of new regional development grant in the East. Kilbride parliamentary constituency is given below:

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the total level of grant given to companies within the East Kilbride constituency under the regional development grant system in each year since 1984.

Mr. Gordon Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list at 1987 prices spending on (a) regional development grants and (b) regional selective assistance since 1979.

Gross expenditure on regional selective assistance (section 7) and regional development grant between 1979–80 and 1986–87 at 1986–87 prices are estimated at £252 million and £1,365 million respectively.

Mr. Gordon Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how much has been spent on (a) RDG and (b) RSA in 1986–87 and so far in 1987–88.
