§ Mr. Wrayasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if, given the steps which the Government of Nicaragua have taken to comply with the Guatemala accord, Her Majesty's Government will now restore full support for economic and financial aid to that country.
§ Mr. EggarAid is directed as far as possible to the poorest countries in the world and those with which we have traditional links. Nicaragua is in neither category but has continued to benefit from EC aid of which the United Kingdom contributes some 20 per cent. We also co-finance small development projects with British voluntary agencies and contribute to humanitarian relief work.
