§ Mr. Wrayasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if Her Majesty's Government will take steps in order to seek to put a stop to the reported damage to Namibian natural resources by British companies.
§ Mrs. ChalkerWe do not intervene in the operation of British companies in Namibia. We have no reason to believe that they are behaving irresponsibly. In contrast, considerable damage is being caused to Namibia's natural resources by Soviet and East European over-fishing.
