§ Mr. Michael J. Martinasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what assistance he is giving to Glasgow district council in order to enable it to improve the housing stock.
§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonGlasgow district council has received capital allocations in the current financial year of £85.65 million for expenditure on its own housing stock and £53 million for expenditure on housing in the private sector. Furthermore, the council will augment its mainstream expenditure on housing projects by an additional £140 million over the next three to four years through the use of a covenant scheme facility which we made available last year.
