HC Deb 26 October 1987 vol 121 c142W
Mr. Nigel Griffiths

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make provision for local authorities to undertake effective anti-dampness measures in houses.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

It is for the local authorities themselves to decide what measures to take to combat dampness in their housing stocks and what proportion of the resources available to them to spend on the problem. In deciding on levels of capital allocations for next year, we will again pay particular attention to authorities' plans to deal with dampness.
