§ The Prime MinisterIn a statement on 3 October the South African Defence Minister confirmed that there was a South African military presence in Angola. We have made clear to the South African Government, both before and since that statement, that we condemn cross-border violations from whatever quarter. We consider that the problems of the region should be solved peacefully by negotiation.
