When they will be making an announcement following the recommendations submitted to them by the Nature Conservancy Council under Section 24 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 about the protection of UK native species.

After extensive consultation and careful consideration of NCC's recommendations, the Government have today announced their decision to change the protected lists in the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 as follows:
