§ Mr. AllenTo ask the Lord Privy Seal what consultations he is undertaking on the bringing forward of proposals for the establishment of a Select Committee on Procedure.

§ Mr. WakehamThe hon. Member will be aware of the provision of time for a debate on Wednesday 2 December in the name of the Chairman of the Committee of Selection relating to the membership of departmental Select Committees. We have progressed as fast as we can and I am sure that future Parliaments will do likewise.
§ Mr. AllenTo ask the Lord Privy Seal in what circumstances he considers it appropriate for departmental Select Committees reports to be debated on a substantive motion.
§ Mr. WakehamWhen it is necessary in accordance with the general wish of the House.
