§ Mrs. CurrieThe NHS ambulance services listed provided hospital car service transport for some of the non-emergency patients they carried during 1986. Health authorities are free to reimburse drivers in the hospital car service at rates comparable to those agreed by the General Whitley Council for NHS staff or at a rate determined in the light of local circumstances. Information about the amount paid per mile by individual health authorities is not held centrally.
