§ Mr. Peter BottomleyIf the merger goes ahead, the Government expect British Airways' proposals to be implemented in full, and the chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority has undertaken to report to me a year later about this. We are satisfied that appropriate powers are available to my right hon. and noble Friends the Secretaries of State for Trade and Industry, and Transport, and the chairman of the CAA in the event that BA did not implement its proposals in full.
