What are the most recent figures for (a) Soviet ships in British ports; (b) Soviet vessels operating within the United Kingdom territorial sea; and (c) Soviet seamen on shore leave, etc., within the United Kingdom.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)In 1986 there were some 1,960 visits by Soviet vessels to UK ports. Present indications are that there will be a slight increase in the number of visits this year. The other information requested is not available.
