§ Mr. Brooke[holding answer 24 November 1987]: It is expected that the proposed Government data network would be used initially by Her Majesty's Customs and Excise, the Home Office, the Department of Health and Social Security and the Inland Revenue. There are no plans for the police national computer to use the network.
