§ Mr. Douglas HoggThe statistics which are collected centrally on notifiable offences recorded and cleared up relate to entire police force areas, and are published in "Criminal Statistics England and Wales" (tables 2.18 and 105W 2.19 of the issue for 1986, Cm. 233) copies of which are in the Library. The clear-up rate in West Yorkshire was 38 per cent. in 1986.
