§ Mr. LuceI was very glad to be able to announce earlier this month an increase in the public lending right fund of £0.75 million which brings the annual fund to £3.5 million. This represents an increase of 27 per cent, and is the second substantial increase in three years. It will raise the fund in real terms to its highest level since the scheme was implemented, and demonstrates the Government's commitment to public lending right.
