§ Mr. Teddy TaylorTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what was the total deficit of the United Kingdom in manufacturing trade on the overseas trade statistics basis in the most recent 12 month period for which figures are available and what percentage of the total was in respect of trade with the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. ButcherIn the 12 months to September the deficit on our trade in manufactures was £10.8 billion with the other members of the Community and £9.5 billion overall. Forty six per cent, of our exports and 56 per cent, of our imports are with the Community.
