§ Mr. Michael SpicerMy Department received earlier this year a copy of the British Wind Energy Association's position paper "Wind Power for the UK". This presented a case for a substantial increase in the United Kingdom wind energy programme and emphasised that the programme's aim should be to demonstrate the economic viability of using wind turbines to generate electricity for the national grid. In response, the BWEA was invited to discuss details of its report with departmental officials.
