HC Deb 20 November 1987 vol 122 c705W
Mr. Chris Smith

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what information he has as to whether the Bank of England will make public the conclusions of its investigation into the recent affairs of Standard Chartered bank.

Mr. Lilley

As I indicated in my reply to the hon. Member on 26 October at column33, the full report of the investigation will be subject to Banking Act confidentiality. However, the Bank of England has said that it intends to make the general conclusions public.
