However, the number of vacancies notified and remaining unfilled on 2 October 1987 at the jobcentres in Barrhead, Govan and Shawlands, which inter alia serve residents of the Glasgow Pollok parliamentary constituency, was 1,094 including 257 community programme vacancies). It is estimated that only around one third of all vacancies nationally are notified to jobcentres.
