What progress has been made with the code of recommended practice on local authority publicity to be issued under Section 4 of the Local Government Act 1986.
§ Lord BelsteadIn the light of the consultations carried out by my department earlier this year, we have made some changes to the draft code of recommended practice which reflect comments made by the local authority associations and other interested parties. The draft also now incorporates the minor changes that would be necessary if Parliament approves Clause 26(2) of the Local Government Bill. Copies of the revised draft code have been placed in the Library of the House and the Printed Paper Office.
