To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if the Manpower Services Commission will extend its funding of the local employer network scheme for a further year.

§ Mr. Cope
The Manpower Services Commission helps to finance each local employer network for one year only. There are no plans to change that arrangement. The commission is working with the Association of British Chambers of Commerce and the Confederation of British Industry to increase the ability of the networks to finance themselves.
