HC Deb 17 November 1987 vol 122 c501W
Mr. Parry

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the recent visit by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, the hon. Member for Rossendale and Darwen (Mr. Trippier) to Liverpool.

Mr. Trippier

[holding answer 16 November 1987]: I visited Liverpool on 9 November 1987. In the morning I met officials from Merseyside task force and also had discussions with representatives of the local business community. I then went on to tour the headquarters of the Merseyside Council for Voluntary Services, saw various projects and met the director, and other senior officials. In the afternoon I held a press conference prior to attending the launch of the Nat West Liverpool business week at the Adelphi hotel.
