HC Deb 17 November 1987 vol 122 c473W
Mr. Evennett

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what steps are taken by London Regional Transport to ensure that satisfactory means of public transport are available to hospital patients and visitors following the implementation of proposed alterations to bus routes serving hospitals.

Mr. David Mitchell

London Regional Transport has a general duty to provide or secure the provision of public passenger transport services for greater London, having due regard to the transport needs for the time being of greater London, and efficiency, economy and safety of operation. The means by which it fulfils that duty in particular cases is a matter for the management of London Regional Transport.
