§ Mr. Peter BottomleyConsulting engineers have recently been appointed to undertake a study of the A453 from the M1 motorway to a point near the Nottingham city boundary. We do not expect to receive their report until early 1989. The Department's regional office is considering the report by consultants on the A453 mainly within the city through Clifton. Further work on the complex traffic analysis and environmental issues is required. It is too early for any firm conclusions to be made. I will make an announcement on the way forward as soon as I can.
