§ Mr. LesterTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether Her Majesty's Government have any plans to make a financial contribution to the European public campaign on North-South interdependence and solidarity, organised by the Council of Europe.
§ Mr. Chris PattenAs an indication of our support for the aims of this worthwhile campaign, I am making a contribution of £40,000 available to the British national organising committee plus a £30,000 contribution to the European organising committee. These funds are in addition to our long-standing agreement to meet the costs incurred by the United Kingdom reprsentative to the European organising committee and bureau.
