§ Mr. CartwrightTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make it his policy that the326W grant available for trade union education and training by independent trade unions not affiliated to the Trades Union Congress will rise at least in line with inflation, in the light of the fact that the grant for 1986–87 remained at the same level in cash terms as in 1985–86.
Mr. JacksonMy right hon. Friend has recently determined that the grant available for education arid training by trades unions not affiliated to the Trades Union Congress should be continued for the financial year 1987–88 at a rate 3 per cent. higher than that agreed for 1986–87.
