To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the total number of people in(a) the Dundee, East constituency and (b) the Dundee travel-to-work area broken down by sex, who are (i) under 25 years, (ii) between 25 years and 35 years, (iii) between 35 years and 50 years and (iv) over 50 years.

I understand that the hon. Gentleman means unemployed people. The number of unemployed claimants on 9 July, the latest date for which this information is available, is:

have been prosecuted for fraudulent social security claims in the past six months; and how many of these received custodial sentences.

In the six months ended on 31 October 1987, 65 prosecutions involving social security offences were instituted by local social security and unemployment benefit offices covering the Glasgow, Central area. None of those prosecuted received custodial sentences.
