The Green Papers produced by the Department of the Environment since 9 June 1983, and the White Papers produced since 3 May 1979 are as follows.

Details of Green Papers produced before June 1983 are not readily available. The current arrangements for placing in the Library responses to major consultation papers on matters of general interest were introduced in October 1986, and a list of those papers where responses have been placed in the Library is as shown.

For papers produced in the 1986–87 Session, 48 per cent. have not had their responses placed in the Library.
