To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what is the average size of a medical practitioner's list in the urban areas of Scotland;

(2) what is the average size of a medical practitioner's list in the inner cities of Scotland.

For statistical purposes medical practitioners' lists are classified as urban, semi-urban or rural. At 1 October 1986, the date of the latest information available, the average size of a medical practitioner's list in Scotland classified as urban was 1748.
