§ Q80. Mr. Tom ClarkeTo ask the Prime Minister if, pursuant to her reply of 22 October,Official Report column 920, she is in a position to indicate specifically when Her Majesty's Government intend to implement those sections of the Disabled Persons (Services, Representation and Consultation) Act 1986 which would assist in assessements for people who have been discharged from hospital and who have been receiving treatment for six months or more for a mental health problem or mental handicap.
§ The Prime MinisterMy hon. Friend the Minister for Social Security and the Disabled announced in his reply to the hon. Member on 4 November, at column 783, plans for the implementation of sections 5 and 6 of this Act, following a meeting with the local authority associations last month. At that meeting discussions began on the implementation of section 7, which deals with assessments for people who have been discharged from hospital. Implementation of that section must await satisfactory conclusion of these discussions.
