HC Deb 12 November 1987 vol 122 cc276-7W
Mr. McAllion

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the recorded number of crimes against the person in Dundee in 1987; and what are the corresponding figures for each year since 1979.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

"Crimes against the person" is not an established term in Scottish criminal statistics. Groups 1 and 2 of the standard classification of crimes and offences, however, include most such crimes. The figures for these groups are set out in the table. Information for 1987 is not yet available.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

The table expresses the number of crimes cleared up as a percentage of those recorded in the city of Dundee for the years 1979 to 1986.
