§ Mr. ButcherThe right to prevent the copying of copyright material is a private right to be exercised by the owner of the right. Moreover, the unauthorised production of copies for the purpose of trade is a criminal offence for which severe penalties are provided. The Copyright. Designs and Patents Bill will maintain this level of protection.
