Mr. William Ross

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) when work ceased on the new Royal Ulster Constabulary station for the Waterside, Londonderry; what was the original completion date; when he expects work to restart; and what is now his projected completion date;

(2) when the site for the Royal Ulster Constabulary station at Shantallow, Londonderry, was first identified; when a second site was identified; when work on the Shantallow station was to begin and what progress has been made towards construction; and when he expects construction to begin and to be completed.

Work on the new Royal Ulster Constabulary station at Lisnagelvin, Waterside, Londonderry, ceased in June 1985. The original completion date for the new station was August 1987.

The original site for the RUC station at Shantallow was identified in 1981 and the second site in September 1985.

It would not be in the public interest to give details of future plans for these sites.
