To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement concerning Royal Navy activity in the Norwegian sea.

I refer the hon. Member to paragraphs 404 and 405 of volume 1 of the "Statement on the Defence Estimates 1987" (Cm. 101-I). It is not our general practice to give details of the operational deployment of Royal Navy surface ships and submarines.
