HC Deb 10 November 1987 vol 122 c147W
Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what information he has as to how many European Airbus aircraft (stipulating each marque) have been sold to airlines operating from the United Kingdom; what has been the total cost of these aircraft; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Butcher

British Caledonian has ordered 10 A320s, which are due to be delivered starting next spring. The two Airbus A310 aircraft sold to British Caledonian in 1984 were resold last year because of reduced demand on certain routes. Three A300-B4s were sold to Laker Airways. and these aircraft were disposed of when the airline ceased to operate. The cost of all these aircraft is commercially confidential.
