§ Sir Eldon GriffithsTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services why the entitlement appeal lodged by Mr. M. C. Ward of Old Victoria, Sicklesmere, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, in November 1986 has still not been dealt with; and if he will take steps to improve the arrangements for typing statements of case in his Department, in view of the fact that a statement of Mr. Ward's case, prepared by his Department, was ready for typing on 6 January but was not actually typed until April.
§ Mr. PortilloFurther medical evidence is required to deal with Mr. Ward's appeal. It will be obtained as quickly as possible, but is likely to take some time. I very much regret the delay in typing the statement of case. The typing difficulties at the time have now been resolved, and work is up to date.
