To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has regarding the costs of removing graffiti from London Regional Transport buses, trains and property in each of the last three years.

London Regional Transport estimates that in the current year the cost of cleaning graffiti from Underground trains and structures will be about £750,000 million and that the cost in 1986–87 was about £500,000 million. No estimates are available for 1985–86. The cost of vandalism including graffiti to buses and structures owned by London Buses is estimated to be £1.75 million in 1987–88 and 1986–87, and £1.5 million in 1985–86.
