To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what would be the revenue lost to the Exchequer in a full year if inheritance tax applied only to estates of over half a million pounds at a flat rate of 50 per cent.

About 80 per cent. of the yield would be lost in a full year at 1987–88 levels.
