HC Deb 09 November 1987 vol 122 c2W
Mr. Cummings

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what was the number of GCE and CSE passes in the district of Easington for the years 1985 and 1986.

Mr. Dunn

Information for the areas within local education authorities is not available centrally. Results for Durham local education authority and for England are as follows:

representations from school governors regarding the length of time proposed for objections by parents to opt-out proposals.

Mr. Dunn

I am not aware of any representations on this issue from school governors.

Mrs. Clwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if, when a particular school chooses to ballot all parents on the opt-out proposals, he will make additional funds available to cover the cost of the ballot; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Dunn

Yes. My right hon. Friend will be prepared to assist governing bodies with the cost of such ballots.
